Dreamgirl Era Dance
Description
Tap into your inner Dreamgirl in this contemporary/jazz dance class for all levels. The two ninety minute classes will include warm up and movement exploration inspired by soul music past and present. Anyone can learn these dance combinations to the music of, and inspired by, artists from the Supremes to James Brown, Stevie Wonder to Tina Turner—as well as modern soul influence from artists like Janelle Monae to Megan Trainor.
Instructor: Jessica Wallenfels is a director, choreographer, educator and performer. She most recently choreographed "A Light in the Piazza” for Portland Playhouse and “pool, no water” for Theatre Vertigo. She has choreographed six shows in four seasons at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. Other credits include Seattle Repertory Theatre, Portland Center Stage, and Artists Repertory Theatre in addition to creating her own work through her company, Many Hats Collaboration. Wallenfels will direct and choreograph the original work "The Snowstorm" with CoHo Productions and Many Hats in January 2015.
